Brown bin (garden waste)

The brown wheelie bins are used for collecting waste from your garden.

Items you can put in your brown bin

Please place all garden waste loose in the brown bin. Do not put in bags or liners, including compostable or biodegradable liners.

• Grass cuttings
• Hedge trimmings
• Tree and shrub prunings
• Small sticks, twigs and tree roots
• Leaves
• Weeds
• Old flowers and plants
• Windfall fruit and vegetables waste from the garden (not kitchen waste)

Please break down large items, i.e. branches, so they are less likely to become stuck and will use less space, enabling additional garden waste to be placed in the bin.
