Streetcare Operative DRIVER (7.5T)

 Aragon Direct Services (a trading name of Peterborough Limited) are looking for Streetcare Drivers  to work as part of their Streetcare team based in Peterborough.

Working pattern is Monday – Friday, 37 hours

The purpose of this role is to form part of Aragon’s Streetcare team undertaking Streetcare duties across various sites across Peterborough.  Service delivery will include, but not limited to, operating vehicles up to 7.5T, street cleansing, fly tip removals, and other streetcare tasks.

Working within the Streetcare team you will take responsibility for the safety of yourself and others to provide a ‘right first time’ approach to service delivery.

What will this role involve?

  • Driving or operating relevant vehicles and plant as required to complete tasks
  • Undertaking all aspects of street cleansing works including scheduled and reactive works using both manual and mechanical methods, fly tip removals, litter bin emptying, litter picking etc
  • Ensuring daily work schedules are followed, and to a consistent high standard
  • Reporting and recording the status of tasks via works completion sheets or/and a tablet devise
  • Completing the appropriate safety checks on all vehicles, plant and equipment and carrying out maintenance and reporting defects as required
  • Dealing with members of the public, other team members, managers and sub-contractors in a professional and courteous manner
  • Assisting in other areas of the streetcare service delivery as required

What are we looking for?

  • Full driving licence up to 7.5T
  • CPC
  • Experience of operating vehicles up to 7.5T vehicles, mechanical road sweepers OR the ability to learn
  • The ability to undertake manual work, including manual handling and lifting as required
  • The ability to demonstrate an understanding of good customer care
  • The ability to demonstrate an understanding of a ‘right first time approach’ to service delivery
  • The ability to work safely, and follow safe working practices at all times 
  • The ability to follow work instructions both written and oral to a high standard without direct supervision.
  • The ability to read and understand documents such as inspection sheets, Risk Assessments, COSHH sheets, etc.
  • The ability to complete all relevant / necessary forms relating to the Streetcare operations
  • The ability to identify and recognise health and safety issues before they may become a problem
  • Self-motivated and hardworking

Passenger Transport Driver

Aragon Direct Services (a trading name of Peterborough Limited) are recruiting a part time or full time Passenger Transport Driverto work as part of their team based in Peterborough.

The main purpose of this role is to maintain a safe environment for pupils accessing transport services. Where required, working with a passenger assistant to provide high quality school transport service throughout the designated area, providing the service user with a positive experience of our transport services and reflect the values of Aragon Direct Services.

Hours of work – Monday to Friday, Term Time Only. 07.15 – 09.15 and 14.30 – 16.30 (split shift) or Full Time.

This is a rewarding role working with a variety of students. Assisting our service users daily to help promote independence.

What does the role involve?

  • To collect and deliver allocated clients from designated pick up points, to their destination, ensuring at all times that they are safe and comfortable, and that when travelling all occupants of the vehicle are securely strapped in position using the full range of restrain systems provided.
  • Report any concerns over behavioural, physical, mental or other health needs of the clients to the school and/or line manager. Completing accident forms where required.
  • Deliver the clients to the safe custody of their designated drop off point.
  • Complete regular bus pass checks and report any issues.
  • To undertake daily vehicle checks before use and at the end of each day (brakes, oil, water, tyres, cleanliness and any vehicle damage).
  • To keep tidy, whilst in possession, the vehicle (inside and out) and to report when interior/exterior clean is required.
  • Responsible for maintaining and conducting oneself in a professional manner towards colleagues and other agencies.
  • Display a good attitude to our clients, school staff, visitors, public and colleagues.

Licencing Requirements

· Unrestricted D1/Full PSV Licence or PCC Private Hire Badge

Refuse Loader

Aragon Direct Services (a trading name of Peterborough Limited) are expanding their Refuse Collection Team and are looking for Refuse Loaders to work as part of their team based in Peterborough. The main purpose is to collect refuse/recycling from residential properties and dispose of at the appropriate waste collection sites.

Working hours are Tuesday – Friday 42 hours per week

What do the roles involve?

As a Refuse Loader, your duties will include:

  • Collect refuse/recycling from requested locations
  • Loading onto a collection vehicle using the equipment provided to agreed work targets and to high standards

  • Basic literacy skills

Grounds and Tree Maintenance

Hours of work – 40 hours Monday to Friday

What does the role involve?

In addition to our normal tree maintenance works, this winter we will be planting over 3000 trees across the city.  To help us deliver this   we are looking for suitable people (at all levels of experience) who are passionate about trees and want to play a part in the delivery of our works.

Refuse and Recycling Driver

Aragon Direct Services (a trading name of Peterborough Limited) are recruiting full time Refuse Driver/Loader to work as part of their team based in Peterborough.

The main purpose of this role is to collect refuse and recycling from residential properties in Peterborough and dispose of it at the appropriate waste collection sites.

Hours of work – 42 hours Tuesday – Friday or Part Time

What does the role involve?

  •  Collect refuse/recycling from requested locations and dispose of at the appropriate waste collection sites.
  • Carry out daily vehicle inspections and complete appropriate paperwork.
  • Drive / load as directed.
  • Operate the compaction controls of a company vehicle when required.
  • Operate the ‘in cab device’.
  • Ensure that where premises, gates, barriers are unlocked to gain access and they are relocked, paying particular attention to the safeguarding of keys.
  • Carry out and assist with Loading responsibilities as required.
  •  Ensure paperwork is completed fully and passed to the relevant Supervisor.
  • Ensure the satisfactory completion of work in accordance with instructions.
  • Ensure compliance with both company vehicle policy and all legislative requirements.

Requirements – qualifications

  • Driver CPC qualification.
  • Full Category C driving licence.

Requirements – experience:

  • Basic literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Driving experience.
  • Experience of using a Digital Tachograph Card is desirable.
  • Awareness of Health and Safety, Manual Handling, legislation, policies, and procedures.
  • Experience of refuse collection is preferable.

Asbestos Surveyor

The main purpose of this role is to undertake the role of Asbestos Surveyor to produce asbestos inspection/reinspection survey reports on a cyclical basis across the PCC Estate, as well as refurbishment and demolition asbestos survey reports when required.

Key deliverables:

  • Inspect all assets comprising the PCC property estate, undertake sampling as necessary and prepare reports detailing the extent of those inspections complete with photographic details, marked up floor plans and sample test results from the appointed accredited laboratory.
  • Manage schedules and the programme management of asbestos surveys.
  • Work with the Property team in respect of preparing the scope of works and specifications for refurbishment and/or demolition projects, as well as asbestos removal works.
  • Advise and update the Property team in respect of statutory guidance, standards and regulatory changes.
  • Undertake the management, training and mentoring of the facilities technical team, to promote an upskilled and multi-skilled workforce.
  • Personally undertake further training as necessary to support additional services that the Property technical team might aim to provide.
  • Use appropriate workspaces in AutoCAD and the preparation of drawings for use in the asbestos reports.

Requirements – experience:

  • Number of years’ experience – Ideally a minimum of five years;
  • Previous experience of working with a diverse property portfolio – to include education, leisure, commercial and domestic.
  • Consistently produces clear, accurate reports.
  • Ability to identify potential business opportunities and risks.
  • Use of MS Office, particularly Word and Excel, as well as AutoCAD.
  • Experience in the provision of budget costings is desirable.
  • Experience of working in a client facing role.

Requirements – qualifications

  • Qualifications – Essential BOHS P402; Nice to Have BOHS P405;
  • Clean driving licence and use of a vehicle, suitably insured for business use.
  • Successful completion of enhanced DBS clearance check.

Part Time School Cleaner

The main purpose of these roles is to maintain a clean and safe environment for schools.

Working hours are 10 hours per week

What do the roles involve?

· Emptying bins and removing waste to a designated area.

· Cleaning, washing, sweeping, mopping, dusting, polishing and vacuuming to a required standard.

· Cleaning toilets and washrooms to the required standard where allocated.

· Using powered equipment where necessary (vacuums, carpet cleaners, scrubbing machines) Training given on induction.

Tree Surveyor

This is a full time position – 40 hours Monday – Friday

This is an exciting opportunity to work with a progressive client where the management of their large tree stock is a key priority, and thus supported with the budget to reflect their vision.

What does the role involve?

The main purpose of this role is to manage a large and diverse tree stock; ranging from street trees, parks, open spaces and woodlands, the successful candidate will be responsible for undertaking large scale cyclical and reactive surveying, as well as providing technical advice and support to the various stakeholders on tree related matters.

What are we looking for?

We are looking for candidates holding an appropriate and related professional arboricultural qualification (equivalent to minimum QCF level 3), with practical experience of surveying (ideally in a local authority role) to include:

  • A Full UK driving license
  • Excellent tree identification skills
  • Current knowledge of industry best practice
  • Good tree ID and Pest and disease knowledge
  • A wider understanding of basic ecology & environmental matters
  • Sound written & verbal communication skills

Seasonal Streetcare Operatives (Drivers)

Aragon Direct Services (a trading name of Peterborough Limited) are looking for Grounds Maintenance and Street Cleansing staff to work as part of their Streetcare team based in Peterborough.

Successful candidates will be offered a 6-month, fixed term contract within our Streetcare team, undertaking Grounds Maintenance and Street Cleansing and duties.

For the right candidate with the right attitude this fixed-term contract could lead to a permanent role within the Streetcare team at Aragon.

Working pattern is Monday – Friday, 37 to 38.5 hours per week.

Service delivery will include, but is not limited to;

· Undertaking all aspects of grounds maintenance including grass cutting, hedge cutting/pruning, planting, strimming, weeding, sweeping, sport pitch maintenance, etc.

· Undertaking all aspects of street cleaning works including scheduled and reactive street cleaning; litter picking, litter bin emptying, sweeping, street furniture cleaning, Glutton use, flytip removal, etc.

· Safely driving company vehicles (up to 3.5T) and operating machinery in built-up urban areas, including the city centre.

· Ensuring daily work schedules are followed, and to a consistent high standard.

· Completing appropriate safety checks on all vehicles and equipment, carrying out maintenance, and reporting defects as required.

· Liaising with members of the public, other team members, managers and sub-contractors in a professional and courteous manner.

· Assisting with other areas of the contract as required.
