Service Management Supervisor

This is a permanent full time (37.5 hours per week) Monday – Friday position. Part Time/Job Share applicants will also be considered.

Working within the Service Management Team, this position will supervise a large team in both duties and performance. The successful candidate will direct and oversee team members to ensure daily operations align with the vision of the Company.  Strictly adhere to deadlines by communicating expectations to team members, setting goals, motivating team members, and following the companies HR processes where necessary.  In addition, overseeing the customer service aspect of the department and stepping in when a customer is unhappy with the outcome of an interaction with a team member.

Main duties

Your duties will comprise (but are not limited to) the following:

  • Direct supervision of a large compliment of employees
  • Operation and administration of web-based HR system
  • Ordering, checking and goods receipting using online purchase ordering system
  • Allocation of work / duties over a multi-disciplinary workforce
  • Investigating complaints / incidents
  • Arranging of DBS
  • Compliance/ Health and safety/ Satisfaction monitoring of buildings
  • Supporting the Head of Service Management with contractual compliance
  • Pricing jobs and producing quotes for customers
  • Stock control  
  • Assisting the Service Manager with the achievement of all financial targets and the realisation of the Companies expectations                               

We are looking for someone with a background in Building Cleaning (with a logistical knowledge of Peterborough), who has experience in the people management of large teams and the ability to deliver tool box talks/work briefings to teams.

The successful candidate will have a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including PowerPoint and experience of writing quality reports and the ability to deliver these in a timely manner.

We are looking for someone who holds both a People Management qualification and a clean driving licence (with use of a vehicle, suitably insured for business use). IOSH and H&S qualifications or wiliness to learn.

Chartered Surveying Degree Apprentice – Building Surveying

Aragon Direct Services (a trading name of Peterborough Limited) are recruiting a Building Surveyor Degree Apprentice to work as part of their team based in Peterborough.

The role is to become part of the existing building surveying team who provide a diverse range of property services to Peterborough City Council. This includes planned preventative maintenance; reactive maintenance; capital works projects; estate works; condition surveys; other building surveying services – across civic; corporate; business etc.

We are looking for an enthusiastic apprentice who is keen to learn from our existing technicians and asbestos/building/M&E surveyors, who have gained a wealth of experience from across all areas of the construction industry.

Tractor Driver  – Peterborough  

Aragon Direct Services (a trading name of Peterborough Limited) are looking to recruit an experienced and skilled tractor driver to work as part of their Streetcare team delivering grounds maintenance services across the city of Peterborough.

Working pattern is Monday to Friday, 37 to 38.5 hours per week (Mon-Thur 7.15am to 4pm and Fri 7.15-12.45pm) – Immediate start.

What are we looking for?

  • Experienced operators of tractors up to 100HP, including the use of grass and hedge cutting implements such as side-arm flails
  • Demonstrated first-hand experience of safely operating tractors and attachments in a range of horticultural/agricultural environments, including grass cutting and hedge maintenance
  • Ability to operate vehicles up to 7.5T
  • Self-motivated and hard working
  • Ability to be trained and to operate other plant and machinery such as ride on mowers, small powered tools etc
  • Desire and ability to consistently work to a high standard with a flexible approach
  • Health and Safety awareness and the ability to follow safe working practices at all times.
  • Ability to proactively recognise health and safety issues and take positive appropriate action

Experience and Qualifications

Service delivery will include, but is not limited to;

  • Operating tractors to undertake scheduled works, such as grass cutting, hedge cutting pitch maintenance etc
  • Undertaking other aspects of grounds maintenance including grass cutting, hedge cutting, planting, strimming, weeding, sweeping, sport pitch maintenance as required
  • Safely driving company vehicles and operating plant and machinery
  • Completing appropriate safety checks on all vehicles and equipment, and carrying out appropriate maintenance, and reporting defects as required.

Trainee Passenger Transport Driver

The main purpose of this role is to maintain a safe environment for pupils accessing transport services. When required, working with a passenger assistant to provide high quality school transport service throughout the designated area, providing the service user with a positive experience of our transport services and reflect the values of Aragon Direct Services.

Hours of work – Monday to Friday minimum 20 hrs to Full Time

This is a rewarding role working with a variety of students. Assisting our service users daily to help promote independence.

After completing the training, the role will involve:

  • To collect and deliver allocated clients from designated pick-up points to their destination, ensuring at all times that they are safe and comfortable, and that when travelling all occupants of the vehicle are securely strapped in position using the full range of restrain systems provided.
  • Report any concerns over behavioural, physical, mental, or other health needs of the clients to the school and/or line manager. Completing accident forms where required.
  • Deliver the clients to the safe custody of their designated drop off point.
  • Complete regular bus pass checks and report any issues.
  • To undertake daily vehicle checks before use and at the end of each day (brakes, oil, water, tyres, cleanliness, and any vehicle damage).
  • To keep tidy, whilst in possession, the vehicle (inside and out) and to report when interior/exterior clean is required.

Lead Arborist/Climber  – Peterborough  

Aragon Direct Services (a trading name of Peterborough Limited) are looking to recruit an experienced arborist/climber to lead our small team of arborists/grounds staff based in Peterborough, managing Peterborough City Council’s tree stock. 

The work undertaken as part of our contract with the City Council offers a varied and diverse mix of urban and woodland tree works, ranging from cyclical scheduled ward works to reactive unplanned tree works and maintenance.

This is permanent position, 37.5 hours a week (Mon-Fri 8am – 4pm) offering an immediate start

What are we looking for?

  • Arborist/climber with 5+ years’ experience

Refuse and Recycling Driver

Aragon Direct Services (a trading name of Peterborough Limited) are recruiting full time Refuse Driver/Loader to work as part of their team based in Peterborough.

The main purpose of this role is to collect refuse and recycling from residential properties in Peterborough and dispose of it at the appropriate waste collection sites.

Hours of work – 37 hours Tuesday-Friday

What does the role involve?

· Collect refuse/recycling from requested locations and dispose of at the appropriate waste collection sites.

· Carry out daily vehicle inspections and complete appropriate paperwork.

· Drive / load as directed.

· Operate the compaction controls of a company vehicle when required.

· Operate the ‘in cab device’.

· Ensure that where premises, gates, barriers are unlocked to gain access and they are relocked, paying particular attention to the safeguarding of keys.

· Carry out and assist with Loading responsibilities as required.

· Ensure paperwork is completed fully and passed to the relevant Supervisor.

· Ensure the satisfactory completion of work in accordance with instructions.

· Ensure compliance with both company vehicle policy and all legislative requirements.

Requirements – qualifications

– Driver CPC qualification.

– Full Category C driving licence.

Requirements – experience:

– Basic literacy and numeracy skills.

– Driving experience.

– Experience of using a Digital Tachograph Card is desirable.

– Awareness of Health and Safety, Manual Handling, legislation, policies, and procedures.

– Experience of refuse collection is preferable.

Motor Vehicle Technician – Apprenticeship

The main purpose of the role is to assist in the maintenance and repair of all types of petrol and diesel propelled vehicles and plant operated by Peterborough Limited, PCC and third parties.

The apprentice will report to a Workshop Manager and will assist in:

  • maintenance and repair of plant and equipment of a type that by its nature and design falls in the capabilities of a vehicle mechanic.
  • conducting routine inspections, condition reports indicating if uneconomic to repair, and pre-MOT or DOT inspections, as necessary.
  • carrying out MOT tests.
  • undertaking roadworthiness inspections of vehicles in operational use.
  • diagnosing vehicle defects and inform the Workshop Manager/Foreman of work content.
  • identifying repairs required through unfair wear and tear and advise the Workshop Manager/Foreman.
  • carrying out general repairs and major overhauls or replacement of engines and gearboxes as required.
  • carrying out automotive electrical work.
  • carrying out gas and electrical welding, as necessary.
  • liaise with stores personnel in relation to supply of parts and equipment as required with suppliers.
  • co-ordinate the scheduling of repairs, ordering and receiving of parts.
  • complete all documentation including worksheets, certificates, and receipts, signing where appropriate.

Seasonal Streetcare Operatives (Drivers)

Successful candidates will be offered a 6-month, fixed term contract within our Streetcare team, undertaking Grounds Maintenance and Street Cleansing and duties.

For the right candidate with the right attitude this fixed-term contract could lead to a permanent role within the Streetcare team at Aragon.

Working pattern is Monday – Friday, 37 to 38.5 hours per week.

Service delivery will include, but is not limited to;

LGV Technician (Sweepers and Plant)

The main purpose of this role is to perform maintenance and repairs on a variety of vehicles, specialising in sweepers and plant.

Hours of work – Monday to Friday (40 hours)

What does the role involve?

  • Maintaining and repairing vehicles, including RCV, Cage Tippers, Sweepers and other waste industry specialist vehicles, plant and equipment.
  • Performing diagnoses to identify problems using the latest specialist equipment.
  • Ensuring vehicle downtime is kept to a minimum.
  • Maintaining the fleet as prescribed in the DVSA guide to roadworthiness standards.
  • Ensuring all documentation, Work Orders, and service sheets are completed and returned to the workshop office for approval.
  • Ensuring that all tooling and equipment complies with current legislation and certification.
  • Maintaining a tidy bench and work area.
  • Ensuring a high level of support for internal departments.

Requirements:

  • Experience repairing vehicles, specifically Sweepers and Plant.
  • Educated to City and Guilds/NVQ Levels as appropriate.
  • Valid LGV licence is desirable.
